Sad Week

Early on Friday morning,my sweet Charlie left us. He was 15 so had led a good long life. I was fortunate to have him in my life sine March 2010. He was found in a shelter in Los Angeles and was about to be euthanized. A good soul rescued him,and sent him up to a shelter in Victoria. He was a perfect little dog. Well behaved, friendly and very loving. I will miss him a lot. Continue reading Sad Week

Walking with the Family

A couple of months ago,Charlie became part of our family which includes three cats and myself.  Every morning we take a short walk up the road and a couple of weeks ago,my cat Calvin decided it would be fun to join us.  So almost every morning, the three of us wander up the road together.   Yesterday morning,Calvin’s mother,Zoey sat at the end of the driveway and meowed from the time we left until we returned and this morning she decided to join us.    I wonder if any of my neighbours were looking out their window and what they would think.  Someone has to hide in the bush and take a picture.

Crowds

It’s Saturday of the May long weekend and once again the crowds descend on my little island. After having enjoyed having Dinner Bay park to myself for the last couple of months when I take Charlie there 4 or 5 days a week, today we were surrounded by crowds. Must have been at least 20 people there. Can you believe it? And those city dogs didn’t want to play with poor little Charlie who was really excited to see them.

Grannyhood

Growing up,I never had a grandmother close. One was in Germany and the other was in Scotland. I was in Canada.

So not having a role model,it's all completely new to me and I LOVE IT. It's so much fun having these lovely little babies to play with. Still learning what being a Granny is all about.
