A Danish Christmas Eve

Once again I find myself travelling at Christmas. Not far but enough to remind me of the yearly travails to my family years ago. This year (for the second year in a row) I was invited to my son in law’s family’s home to celebrate a Danish Christmas Yes,those are real candles on the tree. A traditional Danish custom.

My favourite part was,of course, seeing all of the family who I hadn’t seen since my birthday in late September.

My daughter is once again very pregnant, due to have her second child in early March. One last pleasure,My son in law’s mother is the most amazing cook. Since this was the second year,I learned from last year that it is wise not to eat quite as much as I was tempted to.

Grannyhood

Growing up,I never had a grandmother close. One was in Germany and the other was in Scotland. I was in Canada.

So not having a role model,it's all completely new to me and I LOVE IT. It's so much fun having these lovely little babies to play with. Still learning what being a Granny is all about.
