About

I became a Granny on August 31st,2009 when my daughter gave birth to a beautiful little boy,Mattias James.   Mattias is a Danish name given in respect to his father and grandparents.  James is after my Scottish father who would have loved knowing that his great grandson was named after him.

And then,I became a Granny for the second time on March 6,2011 when my daughter gave birth again, this time to a gorgeous baby girl,Jedda Doll.   Jedda is a name that no one has ever heard of before except her father who met a woman with the name.   We all love it,though.  And Doll is after her paternal grandmother’s maiden name.

I live on Mayne Island which is one of the Southern Gulf Islands between the Lower Mainland of British Columbia and Vancouver Island.  We have a population of about 1100 full time residents.  Now that there are babies to think about,  I will be moving closer to them.    It will be a bit bittersweet as I love my little island and the community that resides here.    But …. here I come ……

Grannyhood

Growing up,I never had a grandmother close. One was in Germany and the other was in Scotland. I was in Canada.

So not having a role model,it's all completely new to me and I LOVE IT. It's so much fun having these lovely little babies to play with. Still learning what being a Granny is all about.
